The team meets on a monday night at our headquarters in Sarn,Bridgend.
A lecture on a rescue topic is delivered by one of the senior members, this usually takes about 75 minutes.

There are a wide variety of topics taught:-

Search techniques ..How to conduct and manage searching
Rescue techniques ..Rope management, safety, rigging for rescue
Map reading ..Micro navigation, moving at night, use of GPS
Casualty care ..Basic life support,defibrillators, use of drugs
Radio theory ..Sending and receiving messages, use of relay sites
Pyrotechniques ..Safety and handling of flares and smoke
Stretchers ..Different types, loading and carrying, casualty considerations
The list above are just the main topics, there are a lot more interesting subjects, learnt by team members.

 

Each member has a personal training record, in which he or she keeps an up to date copy of all training they have attended and received.The recording and monitoring of all training, allows for progression within the team via a number of membership categories. Some of which are listed below
